Graham Chapman - A Liar's Autobiography
Tundra* was commissioned to direct and animate (in stereoscopic 3D) the nightmare chapter for this animated feature film.
Our animation deals with how Graham was struggling to cope with his alcoholism and his sexuality. We mixed techniques such as classic cell aniamation with hand painted cards and put it all together in the computer and made it 3D sterescopic. It was a mad way of working as no-one had ever done this before - but we found our way and really look forward to sharing this with you at the London Film Festival Gala screening on the 16th October!
Graham Chapman, probably best remembered as 'the dead one from Monty Python', writes and stars in the animated movie of his own life story, A LIAR'S AUTOBIOGRAPHY. Although Chapman selfishly dropped dead in 1989, he had taken the trouble to record himself reading his book, A Liar's Autobiography -- and those recordings have now ingeniously been used to provide Chapman's voice for the 3D animated feature of the same name. Fellow Pythons John Cleese, Terry Jones, Michael Palin, and Terry Gilliam also turn up, playing themselves and other characters, along with a few surprise guests.
